This is a far cry from my usual fantasy fare!!

I drew this eagle as a request for a sick family member.
I had to use 2 reference pictures, which is unusual for me but, I had no idea on how to make a realistic looking bird of prey.

Mechanical pencils (0.5 mm and 2 mm) HB & 2B
Pencils 2h & 4h
many types of erasers

It was too big to fit in my scanner so I joined 2 scans and it therefore needed a bit of Photoshop first aid to be revived.
Still looks a bit off but I got it to look semi-decent.

As always, FULL VIEW is almost a must.

I hope you like it and since this is a first for me, any critiques are more than welcome.
(don't be afraid to hit that "add to favorites" button either)

wow the Eagle is very well made :)
I like it very much, but i think the stone coud have been done bether.

Yeah, I was so worried making the stone texture look right (which I think I did ok) That I botched the shading and it looks a bit (a lot) too flat.

Utterly beautiful contrast here, and good feather detail. All taht seems lacking are the feathers near the backside seem very muddied, but it is splendid work otherwise.
